The word "ancient town" doesn't mean a castle, but rather an old town, but it has many impressive buildings and even a space for traditional arts skits. When I visited, they were performing a performance about a wedding where the husband was busy, so they brought animals instead.
Also, despite being a fishing village, the town seems to have been built on a mountain or slope, and you can see stone staircases everywhere. The inside is entirely a shopping district, so it's full of shops, but there are also the occasional mini-museum-like area, so I think it's still enjoyable."
