What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
West Street Xijie is a lively and historically rich pedestrian street, praised for its unique architecture and delicious Minnan street food. While it can get very crowded, especially on weekends and evenings, the vibrant atmosphere and affordable local delicacies make it a must-visit. The ongoing preservation efforts ensure its charm remains intact for future visitors.
"Very lively walking/shopping street, similar to others in Big cities. A lot of young trendy people here shopping. Not so many Hanfu cosplayers, did not see any. Come in the daytime, so that you can take picture of the unique architecture. The architecture here is kinda different from Xiamen shopping streets. Came in Oct 2025, just couple weeks ago, and noticed that the area is undergoing some renovations, the streets and old buildings are maintained and preserved, and there is even a "shuttle bus" to bring you around the area. Its not a small area, so walking around can be tiring. Very cheap to take the shuttle bus, just ask the driver where you want to go to."
