Reviews Summary

Pingjiang Road is a beloved historic canal street in Suzhou, praised for its picturesque views, traditional architecture, and vibrant atmosphere. Visitors enjoy the variety of street food and shopping opportunities, with many recommending it as a must-visit. However, it can get extremely crowded and commercialized, especially during peak times and summer weekends, which can detract from the experience.

"A lot of varieties of Chinese street food. I really love with view, I visited there around 10am and again 5-6pm. It was a few days after Chinese holiday so not much people on the day I visited. There is a lot of photographer on the side of the river and they took a very nice photo for 30 yuan. It is a good experience to wear Qipao and walk around. The weather is very nice and the street is tidy."

"Instead of an enclosed mall, one can enjoy the Historic Chinese themed street along the river with many modern shopping and entertainment choices. Many wore cosplay-like costumes that are supposed to be of Han-style clothes. Many shops provide silk related products (fans, clothes, etc.). Lots snacks too. Great tourism spot worth going."

Pin Wu

"It is extremely touristy and commercial with a lot of souvenir shops and things like that. And it can get very crowded. However it is still a very pleasant place to walk around along the river and canals. There are several cafes with seating along the canals, which is very nice. Beware the arrival of huge Chinese tour groups though."
