What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise tea houses for their unique cultural experiences, knowledgeable hosts, and serene atmospheres. Many highlight the educational aspect of tea ceremonies and the delicious, often traditional, snacks served. While generally positive, some note minor inconveniences like inaccurate map locations or basic public restrooms.
"Saw Alice on trip advisor and YouTube and emailed her for a private booking for a group of 4 people. She was very prompt to respond and accommodating when Beijing traffic got the best of us. The space was so cute and set up very nice. We learned so much about tea and learned how to make each one before tasting them. The little snacks were a nice touch. Also enjoyed looking at the items for sale. Overall a fantastic experience.
Notes: cash or Alipay accepted. Nearest bathroom is public (squaty potty) so bring toilet paper"

"It was an incredible experience. The best recommendation for what to visit in Beijing to get acquainted with Chinese tea culture. I was a small fan of tea before meeting Alice. It turns out I was just drinking the wrong tea and did not understand the varieties and methods of preparation.
Thanks Alice for an interesting introduction!"

"We came to Alice’s Tea Ceremony in Beijing expecting a nice introduction to Chinese tea, but it turned out to be much more than that. I came with my Italian friends, and from the very beginning, Alice made us feel incredibly welcome. She’s an absolute master of her craft — knowledgeable, passionate, and deeply connected to the art and culture of tea.
During the ceremony, we learned not only how to prepare and taste different kinds of tea but also about Chinese history, traditions, and the philosophy behind tea drinking. Alice guided us with patience and warmth, and every tea we tried had a story of its own. The atmosphere was calm, authentic, and peaceful — the perfect escape from Beijing’s busy streets.
We left Alice’s tea house feeling fully satisfied, relaxed, and inspired. It was an experience that touched both the mind and the heart. Worth every cent and highly recommended to everyone visiting Beijing — definitely a must-do experience!"
