Reviews Summary
Tianjin Zoo offers a traditional zoo experience with popular attractions like giant pandas and a baby bear encounter. However, some visitors have expressed significant concerns regarding animal welfare in mixed-species enclosures and the perceived lack of staff intervention. While the panda facilities are generally well-received, other animal habitats have drawn criticism.
"it was very sad to see the monkeys and capybaras living in the same enclosure while the monkey was very rough and abusive toward the capy. staff and owners do not seem to care though and keep them together. animals should not be owned if they cannot be housed correctly. if there is not enough space in the zoo, the zoo should not own the animal."

"On my visit I was disgusted to see that there was a mix between species, with rough behaviour from the orangutan's with capybaras. The fact that staff didn’t even care and defended that it was flinging it around and from a height of over a metre. Shows a comparable reason as to why if you can’t step in when it’s within your control. Don’t complain when you’re subjected to abuse when people should know better. I don’t believe in an eye for an eye. But I do believe in karma. In the world we live in today with social media, they should be doing a lot better! I have taken videos and I will be posting."

"In the Tianjin Zoo in China there are mixed orangutans and capybaras. The capybaras are thrown around by the orangutans for the amusement of the spectators and suffer broken bones and other injuries. This is animal abuse!!! The zoo refuses to separate the animals, it supports animal abuse. The zoo should be closed immediately. 0 stars"
