Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about the Xi'an City Wall, particularly the South Gate, for its historical grandeur and stunning views. Many recommend biking the extensive ramparts or visiting at sunset for a magical experience. While the full circuit can be a workout, the well-preserved fortifications offer a unique glimpse into China's past.

"Okay, so I thought biking on a wall sounded like a cute idea… and it was!
For about the first 10 minutes.

Then my legs remembered I’m not in Tour de France.

That said—totally worth it. The city wall is epic. Wide enough to bike comfortably, and the views flip between old tiled rooftops and modern chaos. It’s such a cool mix.

We went just before sunset, which I highly recommend. There was this golden haze over the city that made everything look like an ancient painting.
The full ride is about 13-14km, so pace yourself. Or don’t finish. No shame. I gave up halfway, found a bench, and ate sunflower seeds like a grandma. 10/10 experience."
