"Tah Kah Kee was born in Xianmen 1874-1961. This entrepreneur and community leader who traveled throughout Southeast Asia and Hong Kong returned and donated to develop China. Specifically, he built Xianmen University and Huaqiao University. Also known as Chen Jiageng, his former residence has been converted into a museum. With a large courtyard facing the lake, this house has typical Fujian architecture and in the center of the building there is a large room for gathering and praying. The rooms on either side serve as a showcase for Tah Kah Kee's journey. He is highly respected for his generosity and significant contributions to development in China, including in the field of education. His foundation even initiated several schools in Singapore and Malaysia.
