"Phoenix Town in Hunan is supposed to be a very beautiful ancient town. During the day, it was nice to walk around. There is so much to see. The old wooden houses and old wooden or stone bridges have been retained. That lent so much charm to the water town. Part of the tour was to take a boat ride around the village. It was such a wonderful experience. But the night changed everything. There were garish, blinking lights all over the place. I suppose these were from the bars. It was so over-commercialized. I'll never go there again."
