What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Hotel Guane in Bucaramanga offers a generally pleasant stay with friendly staff and good amenities like a pool and hammam. While some guests experience minor issues with room maintenance and food consistency, many find it a comfortable and valuable option for a short visit or day trip.
"Downtown Bucaramanga needs some work, just like 90% of downtowns in every city in the world. So while the building is very secure and amenable, downtown clears out at night and is less wholesome.
The service was good, but the food as usual can use improvement in quality. Small portions and higher quality would be great. (Less cheap cooking oil please).
Good people, good service, please improve food.
4/5 stars.

"A very friendly welcome and introduction to the hotel. This is not a 4 star hotel in my opinion. It is a good solid 3 star. The rooms are basic but comfortable. The shower was excellent, apart from the empty shampoo dispenser. The pool is large and clean. The restaurant and other eating areas are fresh and new. Food was excellent. Wines are expensive in relation to everything else. Service was friendly but a little slow. Breakfast was excellent. While not everything was perfect I still rate this as a 5 star experience and this is my "go to" hotel in Bucaramanga."

"Rooms are spacious, well cleaned.
Windows do not protect sound or sun light.
No hot water available at the time.
Rates are ok."

Understanding the 'Guane Village' Misnomer
Despite the name, the focus is on the hotel's facilities rather than a cultural village experience. This means visitors can expect hotel-style services and accommodations. The hotel's description highlights bright quarters, an outdoor pool, an international restaurant, and a hammam, suggesting a focus on leisure and comfort.
Travelers should approach their visit with the understanding that they are visiting a hotel in Colombia, not a historical village in Cuba. This helps set the right expectations for the type of activities and atmosphere available.
Navigating Hotel Guane's Amenities
The international restaurant is a central part of the hotel's offering, providing a space for guests to dine. While the ambiance is described as fresh and new, reviews on food quality are mixed. Some guests found the food excellent, while others suggested improvements in quality and portion size, noting a preference for higher-quality ingredients over cheaper cooking oils.
When planning your visit, consider how you'll utilize these amenities. A day pass might be an option for enjoying the pool and hammam without a full stay, as suggested by some promotional content. Remember to check current operating hours and any specific policies related to amenity usage.
Guest Experiences and Service Insights
However, some reviews point to areas where the hotel could improve. Issues such as inconsistent cleaning, unpleasant room smells, and maintenance problems like water leaks or broken windows have been reported. Additionally, the effectiveness of windows in blocking sound and sunlight has been questioned.
Despite these drawbacks, some guests still rate their experience highly, emphasizing the value for money and the overall pleasantness of the staff. The hotel is considered a solid 3-star option by some, with potential to be a 'go-to' hotel in Bucaramanga if certain aspects are addressed.
