What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Costeño Beach offers a beautiful beachfront with a strong social vibe and great surf opportunities, though some guests have noted issues with cleanliness in private rooms and occasional staff unfriendliness. The food is generally well-regarded for its taste and portion size, but can be pricey for non-guests. Despite minor drawbacks, many find it to be a top-tier hostel experience.
"Nice rooms, incredibly beautiful surroundings. Some of the staff are nice others just counting the minutes foentheir shift to end. The food is ok to pretty good. The only major con is the smell of sewage in and near the rooms."

"Unfortunately, didn't have a great stay. The private room wasn't very clean on arrival (a left over coke bottle and cigarettes on the bed side table) and quite a lot of sand on the floor. The room was then not cleaned at all during our stay. The room was very hot and the only respite was a fan in the bed.
The front desk and Andreas were nice. I was unwell with food poisoning while there (having eaten the food there but can't be 100% sure). I was given some vegetable soup and a 50% refund when I decided to leave early so to be fair they handled it ok.
Didn't love the vibe - the food/bar staff aren't friendly and the food is expensive. Wouldn't recommend."

"Great food, big portions, and a chill beach vibe
We stopped here just for diner with our family of five (kids aged 16–20) and were really impressed. The food was fresh, tasty, and like the menu promised.
The poke bowls I had was perfect after days of fried food - you can build your own. The grilled chicken with salad was juicy, and the Smash Burger was huge and full of flavor. Fries were a bit salty for us.
Nice bonus: you pick your own sauces (BBQ, honey mustard, ketchup, etc.) and how much you want — small touch, but appreciated.
Only small thing: they use a prepaid wristband system, which isn’t ideal if you’re just dropping by once like us. But as long as you calculate your order beforehand, it’s fine."
