What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Isla Barú is celebrated for its stunning white-sand beaches and clear turquoise waters, offering both lively and tranquil spots. Visitors rave about the beautiful scenery and delicious local food. However, many note issues with cleanliness, excessive vendors, and high prices at some establishments, suggesting a need for better organization and environmental care.
"If you can, hire one of the private boat & captains based in the old town port and spend a day out at beautiful Baru. There are livelier spots and super peaceful spots but either way, the sand is soft and the water is warm."
David Rogers
"It is a beautiful beach. The problem is the amount of garbage there is and lack of organization. Also, it is very difficult to enjoy the beach when so many people are trying to sell you something and not respecting your space. I would probably go back if they decide to be cleaner and more organized. We saw tour guides throwing their styrofoam plates in the bushes and mangroves.
The fried fish looks delicious but when you see the areas where the cooking is being done and poor hygiene you don’t feel like having anything there. I am Colombian and it’s sad to write this review but a change has to be made."
Rossana
"Magical, beautiful, enchanting. A resort carved out of a tropical forest. Great service, incredible views; near magnificent white sand beaches, great service, airy, tropical feel"
