Reviews Summary

Visitors are consistently awestruck by the Santuario de Las Lajas's stunning architecture and dramatic cliffside location, often calling it a 'miracle' and one of Colombia's most beautiful sites. The spiritual ambiance and natural beauty are frequently praised, though some note a decline in maintenance and a feeling of being a 'tourist trap' due to commercialization.

"Great place to visit! Only recommend to have lunch before. There is only one restaurant on the top, a bit pricey and not many varieties. Good shoes for walking and great camera !!"

Carol Serna

"Free entrance, Easy to reach in 15min from Ipiales.
Nice simple church build in the rock.
Interesting also the underground museum (5.000 pesos)
You can walk around, down to the river, you have a nice path. Or stay around, go the the waterfall in the front"

Simona Argirò

"Currently in Ipiales before our journey to Ecuador, we explored the Santuario de Nuestra Señora del Rosario de Las Lajas (The Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Rosary of Las Lajas), an ornate 18th-century Gothic-style Catholic church and museum renowned as a pilgrimage destination. We arrived at the cathedral via Uber, leisurely walked and admired the scenery, and attended a mass. Although we spent around three hours there, two hours would suffice. Upon departure, we took the cable car, costing 17,000 pesos, up the hill. The 18-minute ride covers 1.4 km. It's a remarkable site that I highly recommend visiting if you're in the vicinity of Ipiales.
