Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Casa Museo Pedro Nel Gómez as a tranquil, art-filled escape from the usual tourist crowds. The expansive collection and the preserved artist's home offer a unique glimpse into Colombian culture and history. While some find the art's historical context thought-provoking, the serene gardens and peaceful atmosphere are universally appreciated.

"This casa museum is a jewel of Moravia. The art collection is expansive and impressive. The rooms and gardens preserved from the original home are quaint and lovely. It is a place to relax on the terrace or join community activities."

Bernell King | WorldAwaitsTours.com

"The kind of place you discover when you look a little beyond the usual Medellin tourist sites. No crowds. This museum is the artist’s home. Wonderful experience. Fascinating artwork. If you’re interested in Colombian history - this is an excellent stop off the beaten path."

Michael H

"Had a beautifully serene morning here. There are over 3,000 works in the collection at this quaint museum. You will learn about Pedro Gomez, what inspired and drove him, his family and his influence on Colombian art. It seems that he was most well known as a muralist, but the collection showcases many different mediums.

The landscaping and grounds are also quite nice to spend a bit of time taking it in.

A few notes:

Google Translate does a decent job if you aren’t super fluent in Spanish. The language used to describe the artwork is pretty sophisticated, but you will get the gist.

The museum is about a 15 min walk from the Universidad stop on the Metro and worth it!"
