What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Junín Pedestrian Street for its vibrant atmosphere, diverse shopping, and delicious food options, highlighting the unique local tradition of 'juniniar'. While generally a positive experience, some note that it can get crowded, especially on weekends, and advise being aware of surroundings in busy urban areas.
"The Junín Pedestrian Walk is located in the heart of the City of Eternal Spring and specifically between the emblematic Coltejer building and Bolívar Park. Mainly, there are two ways to get there, first, you can take Line A of the Medellín Metro, get off at the Parque Berrio Station and then walk along Avenida la Playa until you reach Carrera 49 which is called Junín, it will be easy to identify it when you see the Coltejer Building. The second option is to go by bus and take one that passes along Avenida Oriental with La Playa and then walk two blocks and your reference point will again be the Coltejer building. Once you arrive, prepare to 'juniniar' which is a verb used to refer to the tradition of walking through the Junín Passage. Therefore, this is, without a doubt, the ideal space to walk and enjoy the city center, visiting the great diversity of shops and admiring the street art found along its route. If you want to delight your palate, you can eat a delicious Bandeja Paisa at the La Hacienda restaurant or also try other delicious typical dishes from the region. If you want to eat traditional Argentine empanadas, the Salón Versalles is the space to do so and at the same time you can chat with your friends. If you want something sweet and delicious, El Astor pastry awaits you. If your plan is to go shopping, along Pasaje Junín you will find a wide variety of commercial establishments ranging from clothing stores, jewelry stores, crafts to flowers. Without a doubt, walking along Paseo Junín will be a unique experience in the city of Medellin."
