What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about San Andrés' stunning 'sea of seven colors,' friendly locals, and vibrant atmosphere, making it a true Caribbean paradise. While the island offers beautiful beaches and lively downtown areas, some find it can be noisy and crowded, particularly at night. Planning and negotiation are key to maximizing the experience.
"Take a walk, discover the beautiful island. It is safe, people are friendly, music and dance never stops. I traveled solo, it was always raining but I still enjoyed a lot and loved it"

"Downtown offers a unique experience both at day and at night. You may bathe at the sea and enjoy the long beach anywhere you want and find convenience stores everywhere all along the shore. There aren't plenty of restaurants though, but you can sometimes find street posts where Islanders sell home-made food in disposable containers that are much cheaper. Some of the best hotels are also located downtown and offer beautiful views of the beach, so have your pick. You can find tours and other services as offered by plenty of people but choose well. At night, you can just hang out in the beach or the sidewalk with some drinks and see how alive the island is. The Seawind is a neverending plus and the view is impossible to get tired of."

"One of the best airports in the world. You exit the building and you can literally walk to the beach and city centre with your luggage. A short walk from the airplane and you pick up the luggage, scan it for security and you are out. 20000cop taxi ride or 20mins scenic walk. There are rentals at the airport and you get a scooter or a golf kart type car. Then you have to options....drive east to the town of San Andres or west to the residential zone. The noise of planes taking off and landing is a reminder how small the island is.
Remember to check the residential areas of Orange Hill, Baptist Church and the East rocky coast."
