Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the Puente Pumarejo as a modern marvel and a symbol of Barranquilla's progress, often comparing its beauty to iconic international bridges. The sunset and nighttime illuminations are particularly highlighted as breathtaking experiences. Some reviews touch upon the historical significance of the old bridge and ongoing debates about its future, as well as the socio-economic context of the region.

"Good looking bridge! Fun fact - when it opened it had no lights at night because people from nearby poorer neighborhoods stole the electric cables. Also, the small bridge next to it should be brought down in order to allow for big boat river traffic to reach the interior of the country. But the small bridge remains, meaning most goods must make it to the main cities by truck, and a small amount by rail from Santa Marta. There must be some political vested interests to not bring down the small bridge and slash transportation costs immediately. Welcome to Colombia."

Karl Duesterberg

"Nice structure! Very touristic by car."

RONALD MARIMON

"A nostálgic place, the old bridge brought Barranquilla to a new generation, and the new and great bridge will bring Barranquilla to the future!"
