Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise the Monteverde coffee tours for their informative nature, engaging guides, and commitment to sustainability. The tasting sessions and farm-to-table lunches are frequently highlighted as exceptional experiences. While generally positive, some may find the tours slightly pricey, though most agree the quality and depth of information justify the cost.

"One of the greatest tours we did in Costa Rica. Our tourguide Guillermo knew so much about the coffee and explained a lot during the walk around the coffee plantation. He also has a dog as mascot that follows the tour! The farm puts a lot of thought into the sustainability of the farm. Their workers are also paid more than usual. During the tour you see the whole process of plant to roasted coffeebean. Afterwards you do a taste test with some chocolate. We also added the lunch at the farm, it was an amazing casado and we can certainly recommend to do this. In the shop you can also buy the coffeebeans, or order them online for worldwide shipping. This is a great tour you should not miss out on."

"This is the premier coffee tour in all of Costa Rica, and if you can get Evelyn to lead the tour, you will be in for a treat, especially if you love coffee. But before you go, you must go to their in town (Santa Elena) coffee shop and try all their different styles of making coffee. This way you’ll understand the processes and you may anticipate the taste at the end of the tour. We really enjoyed learning the entire process of how coffee is grown from farm to table. It was amazing and gave us a real appreciation of the hard work this plantation puts forth to make coffee a wonderful experience. Evelyn took the time to answer all our questions to better understand sustainable coffee production. And you must stay for the wonderful lunch they serve right from their farm itself. Thank you Cafe Monteverde and Evelyn for an unforgettable experience."

"Really enjoyable, informative coffee tour! Our guide was super knowledgeable. It was really cool to see and experience the differences between processing methods (washed/honey/natural), then taste the results of those differences at the end (tasting session) with the chorreador (traditional Costa Rican coffee prep method). Brought home a bag of delicious honey process medium roast that made some great cappuccinos/cortados."
