Rafting on the Balsa River is overwhelmingly praised for its fun, family-friendly rapids and stunning rainforest scenery. Visitors highlight the excellent value, with tours often including transportation, delicious meals, and snacks. Guides are consistently commended for their expertise, humor, and ability to make the experience safe and memorable.

"We had the best time at Arenal rafting! Our guide was Braulio. He did a great job of making us feel safe while also keeping us on our toes. He navigated the river expertly, and went above and beyond to make sure we all had fun taking breaks for fruit, and Cliff jumping. Would 10/10 recommend Are al rafting. Ask for Braulio!"

"10/10 recommend! Super fun, great value, 100% worth it. Lunch, transportation, snacks, towels, all included. We did the level 3/4 rafting option. I got picked up from my hostel and then we went to their office to pick up other people and departed from there. We drove about an hour to sarapique river. All the guides were super fun and made the trip enjoyable and memorable. Oso was the guide during the transport and he was very entertaining with his speeches. My guide for the rafting was “Tony loco” is what he said to call him lol, he was great, he kept us safe and had a fun ride! He gave us opportunities to jump from the side of the hill into the water if we wanted and also in the end we jumped off and floated to the pick up point. It was a lot of fun. Toward the end all the guides brought out so much fruit and started preparing it for everyone. It was a fruit fiesta, a lovely one! And in the end we drove back and had a delicious full lunch! The whole trip was very well organized and I had a wonderful time thanks to all!"

Liezl Siongco

"Had an excellent time rafting for the first time in Costa Rica. This tour was very well organized and lots of fun. Shoutout to our bus driver Guillermo + our tour guides Moises and Jimmy. They did a fantastic job explaining how to paddle + balance in the boat and went above and beyond pointing out animals and special plants along the way. There were also professional photographers set up at different points along the 12km journey and we purchased for a very reasonable price. This tour really included everything… storage for our things on the bus, pick-up and drop-off, photos, towels, water, coffee, and delicious lunch at the end."
