"The hike to this waterfall is moderately challenging with some rocky steep sections. You travel through treed sections where you can appreciate the shade and maybe catch a glimpse of some capuchin monkeys! There are also open sections where you get wonderful views. There waterfall is so lovely and you can douse your hat or headband to cool off for the hike back. There is no swimming allowed here. Reservations for park entry are required."

"The waterfall is part of Parque Nacional Rincon. The hike to the waterfall is about 5 km (one way), 10 km round trip. That distance is only to this waterfall, not the other waterfall in the park. Plan on taking several hour to do the hike and enjoy the falls. It took us about 4 hours total. Much of the hike is under the canopy of the trees, but there’s some parts that are not shaded, so wear sunscreen and take plenty of water. The waterfall was very beautiful and peaceful. The park wasn’t too crowded so we were able to sit and enjoy the waterfall with it just us two for most of the time we were there. You also do not need to spend money on a tour company. Just buy your tickets on the national park website, which you are required to do before getting there, and you can do the hike by yourself."

"This is an intermediate (to challenging) hike depending on the weather. We had a reasonably overcast day and still felt like we didn't bring enough water! In the rain, some of the paths could get quite tricky to navigate. It is about a 2 hour hike each way for a total of 4 hours. The waterfall is beautful and one of the many highlights. We also caught sight of monkeys, pheasant, plenty of insect life too! We purchased tickets in advance and made sure we had the 800 colone fee to take the private road in our car. Straightforward to get to by car."
