What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Playa Avellanas is lauded for its stunning natural beauty, powerful surf, and relaxed, local vibe. Visitors consistently praise the breathtaking sunsets and the unique beachfront dining experiences, particularly at Lola's. However, the challenging, unpaved road leading to the beach is a significant drawback for many, and the strong ocean currents require caution for swimmers.
"Truly breath taking seems likemore of a locals beach.. the water can be very rough if you are not a strong swimmer i suggest staying knee deep"
Danyell V
"Beautiful white sand beach where you can wade out into the surf for a couple hundred meters. Good to boogy board in."
Grant S
"The beach is nice. The road leading there is basically trash- and parts of it lead to Marriott- so it’s beyond my understanding how the road is left in this deplorable condition. Once you make it to the beach, there’s plenty of space and some occasional natural shade. Some questionable people come and take 2000 colones from you when you park there… I would not leave any valuable in the car."
