What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Curú Wildlife Refuge for its abundant wildlife and beautiful beach, offering a genuine nature experience. However, many note that trail maintenance, including damaged bridges and handrails, can be a significant issue, requiring caution. Some also find the onsite food and tour prices to be on the higher side.
"We had a lovely time hiking around this place. Saw lots of wildlife including coatis, an agouti, various types of birds including a green parrot, howler monkeys, a white faced monkey, and probably more I'm forgetting. We basically had the trails to ourselves which was nice. We had lunch here and it was also tasty. When we left we got to see a guy on horseback herding cows which was also neat."
Emily
"Plenty of animals and plants to see:
Monkeys, macaos, dears, wild porcs, coatis, ignanas, basilics. A beautiful beach and some senderos (not in great shape though…) to walk"
Emilie COPPIN
"Absolutely shat ourselves crossing the bridges. Didn’t know wooden bridges could move so much or feel so fragile and not collapse! The trail map is a little hard to find - we should have taken a photo of it, and gave up as we had no idea how far round we’d gotten.
The wildlife and beach are fantastic. We loved seeing the crabs in the forest and the monkeys. Would go again, but would love to see some of the broad walks given a little care and maintenance."
