What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the delicious food, especially fresh seafood and Oaxacan specialties, and the attentive, friendly staff. The beautiful ambiance, particularly during sunset, is a major draw. However, some find the prices to be on the higher side for the region, and a lack of clear signage can make finding certain establishments a challenge.
"+ the salmon was very tasty, the grilled fish also very good
+ nice selection of dishes
+ lovely stuff
- we found it a bit expensive, but this is the first restaurant we tried in Costa Rica so we are not yet used to the prices here"

"Our hotel, La Vela Boutique, gave us two coupons for this restaurant which we wanted to use and had know idea what was in store for us. It is architecturally beautiful open air restaurant. Clean and well groomed. Our server was attentive and excited we were dining with them. Helpful to assist us selecting our meals. I had the fresh caught tuna, my son the chimichurri steak, my other son the filet mignon, my wife salmon and shrimp, and my picky daughter had a custom pasta and shrimp dish. In short, AMAZING! Seriously, the best meal of our trip. Our wine was excellent and the deserts: flan and the vanilla cake were delicious. Highly recommend!!"

"There was no signage on the street marking this restaurant, it's the Hotel Espadilla restaurant. I saw it had the best ratings in the area, so after a few days of underwhelming meals, I decided to give it a go despite the ripoff prices. I'm happy to report that everyone in my party found the food to be tasty and well prepared (two salmon dishes, carpaccio, and a pizza). One star down just because at $40 per person without any drinks it was very expensive."
