Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the Museo del Jade for its extensive collection of jade artifacts and engaging interactive exhibits that make Costa Rican history accessible. While some found the explanations lacking in detail, many appreciate the hands-on approach and the opportunity to learn about pre-Columbian culture. The student discount is a popular perk, though some have noted less-than-friendly staff interactions near closing time.

"Very cool museum that covers a lot of Costa Rican history and culture pre Columbus as well as having some more contemporary art installations. Was able to fully explore it in about 2 hours with reading most (75%) of the information plaques."

"If you’re a student, bring your id for a discounted rate.

I was here right when there were about to close, and still allowed me in. There were multiple floors of historical artifacts, information and facts not just about jade, but life in general from the pre-historic period till now. Apparently, houses the largest jade collection in the world, which is amazing! They had multiple interactive displays—like touchscreens, dioramas, puzzle stations, and hands‑on workshops, which bring the artifacts to life, and is ideal for both adults and children. I couldn’t stay here that long because they were about to close, but I am definitely going back whenever I am in the area."

"Fantastic place where and simple terms you can learn about pre Columbian history of Costa Rica. Great source of information and fun for kids. Temporary exhibits are worth visiting too."
