What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Santa Rosa National Park's La Casona for its significant historical importance and the surrounding natural beauty, highlighting wildlife and serene beaches. While the fire impacted the original mansion, its preserved essence and ongoing restoration are appreciated. Some note that facilities can be basic, and the heat can be intense.
"Since I was a child, I've wanted to go and see the place, including the mansion. Sadly, the fire happened, and most of its history was lost. My husband had gone to see it when it still had bullet holes in the walls. However, I thought it was really nice that they tried to preserve the essence of history and in fairly peaceful places. I felt like I was at home. I feel like it preserves a lot of Costa Rican culture, and I think we should all get to know it!
My recommendation is to go during the week. We arrived around noon, and it was empty, which was good because we were able to take lots of photos. You must buy tickets online. If you're paying upon arrival, you can only pay by card, and you may have to wait in line because you have to register at the park ranger's booth."

You can see white-faced capuchin monkeys, macaws, toucans, and more. The views of the deserted beaches are stunning. It also boasts numerous trails and viewpoints, a true balm for the soul, especially for those who enjoy escaping the city."
