What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the absolutely spectacular panoramic views from Vidova Gora, calling the summit a 'Mecca' for its scenery. The challenging hike is considered well worth the effort, especially when starting early to avoid the heat. Some find the descent trickier than the ascent due to loose rocks, and sturdy footwear is a must.
"After seeing the photos posted by others of a beautiful cell tower we thought “we must go see this Mecca!” ;) we rented an atv and made our way to the little shop at the base and walked up. Upon getting to the tower we thought “she’s a beaut Clark” … we then realized how amazing the scenery was from that high so we soaked it in and explored the top of the mountain some more before having a nice cold beer from the shop."

"My wife and I looked at this and thought we would give it a go. The reviews said to set of early to avoid the heat of the day. Glad we did although it did take over 4 hours in total so was still hot. The path starts steady but then turns to loose rocks and becomes unstable under foot so good walking shoes are needed and you need to be of reasonable fitness. We walked in running trainers which were fit for purpose. It took us 2 hours to get to the top from hotel Elaphusa. At the top there was the most welcome cafe selling all we needed, a cold drink and an ice cream. The views were spectacular and worth the effort.
The descent was more tricky than the climb with the loose rocks one could easily twist and ankle, so. Much care is needed. There are good navigating markers of red and white circles as per attached photos.
We would highly recommend but be aware it is a long hot walk and can at times feel never ending esp in the heat. ( take plenty of water and sun cream )
Enjoy!!"

"Such a beautiful trail and challenging in a good way. I recommend starting as early as possible. Our group started at 6 am and we got to the top in ~2 hours. We completely avoided the heat, which made the climb pleasant. Starting any later would have been unbearable. We were also some of the first people to get there, which was nice.
It’s important to note that the trail is pretty steep in some places and most of the time you walk on large rocks, so it’s important to wear sturdy shoes suitable for hiking. Some of the rocks are also loose!"
