What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Levan Island is praised for its unique sandy beaches and clear turquoise waters, offering a relaxing escape. However, visitors should be aware of potentially high costs for amenities like sunbeds and slow service at restaurants. Some guests have also noted environmental concerns regarding litter in less-maintained areas.
"I loved this Island.
I would recommend people to go early to get sun beds(cost 30 euros), if you take the public boat you’ll arrive too late and probably won’t be enough beds/umbrellas available. We took a taxi boat for 7 euros (round trip) around 9:30 am and we stayed until 6:30 pm.
Good food and drinks, service was very slow but we had nothing else to do but read our books so we didn’t really mind.
I love snorkeling but the beach is really shallow and there’s not a lot of fish, there’s a few sea urchins so water shoes are a must."

"We took a small boat excursion as a family—with our dog—to visit a beautiful beach on one of the popular islands in Istria, Croatia. While the beach looked stunning at first glance, what we found just behind it was truly disappointing.
Only a few steps away from the main area, there were piles of garbage: rotting food, broken sinks, rusted boat parts, and other waste dumped carelessly in the bushes. The smell was awful, and we had to keep pulling our dog away from the mess.
It’s heartbreaking to see such a naturally beautiful place treated like a dumping ground. Even more frustrating is knowing that tourists pay good money to visit these islands, and yet none of that seems to be going toward maintaining or protecting the environment.
This kind of neglect ruins what could be an incredible experience—not just for visitors, but for the local ecosystem too. Until this is addressed, I wouldn’t recommend this excursion or destination. I hope the tour operators and local authorities start taking responsibility before more damage is done."

"We took 4 min boat taxi , 30 kuna return ticket/person from Liznjan coast. It was nice sand beach with 3 restaurants. We took our own umbrella and seats, however it looks like people are take them at the island and no body care, at least we did not see anybody was charged :) Due to I can no confirm if it was for free. The prices in island restaurant (Grill Bar) are not too high compare to continent. It looks like there are night parties during the weekends , however it is subject to confirm by local people."
