What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Valdibora Market and Rovinj's old town are widely praised for their beauty and vibrant atmosphere. Visitors love the colorful produce, the charming Venetian architecture, and the stunning sea views. However, some find the market prices for certain items to be inflated compared to local stores, and the cobbled streets require careful navigation.
"We were staying in a villa in Labin and decided we wanted to visit based on guide book pictures. The journey by car took about 1.5 hours as the road is not fast and there are numerous speed limits with cameras. We were not in a rush, but you do need to watch your speed. WAZE works well in Croatia so we set it for Rovinj parking near the centre. The journey was interesting and pretty and the parking was near the fishing area. Big car park with payment at a booth prior to exit. Cost was about €9 for 3 hours but well worth it. The walk into town took probably 10 minutes what with gazing and photos. Very dramatic colours and lots of activity on the water so if you have someone in your group with mobility issues, you can find them a nice shady spot, and set them up with water and a view. They will not get bored. The old town is stunning but the path up to the Church is cobbled as are the old street areas( as you would expect). This is a definite slip/trip hazard so make allowances. We saw a Road Train but did not have time to travel on it. We find that they are a good and easy way to check out the area, and again, good for those less mobile. Lots of choice for eating and drinking, and for a hot tourist area, relatively inexpensive. Large ice cream for about €2. Pizzas €12~15. Large Croatian beer €3.50. Very good quality souvenir shops and the market offering olive oil, truffles and honey. Lovely, lovely friendly people with no pressure to buy.
We have fallen in love with Croatia and the Croatian people."

"Lively farmer's market with great produce, surrounded by traditional food shops. Caters to both locals and tourists. Merchants are patient with tourists, for the most part. Recommended."
