"Visiting Poljud Stadium in Split for a league game was an unforgettable experience! The atmosphere here is absolutely electric—home team fans are incredibly passionate, creating an energy that’s contagious. Yes, the stadium logistics might be a bit outdated, but the incredible vibe more than makes up for it. The chants, the cheers, and the unity of the fans make you feel like you’re part of something special. We thoroughly enjoyed the game and the overall experience. If you’re in Split, catching a game at Poljud is a must. Strongly recommended for any football fan!"

"I had a disturbing experience at the football match where I got leg kicked and kicked out by a group of Croatian shirtless individuals for no reason. Literally was there to enjoy a football match and couldn’t even last 30 mins.. left a very sour taste as I’ve enjoyed Croatia so far however the crowd at football matches is very much not globalized and would not recommend to foreigners who don’t have tough skin."

For Different Travelers
Tailored advice for your travel style
👨👩👧 Families with Kids
On non-match days, a stadium tour (if available) might be a more suitable option for families, offering a glimpse into the stadium's history and facilities without the intensity of a live game. Pack snacks and drinks, as stadium concessions can be pricey and may have limited options for picky eaters.
⚽ Football Purists & Supporters
Choosing the right sector is crucial for immersing yourself in the fan culture. The North Stand offers the ultimate hardcore experience, while the East Stand provides a balance of active participation and good viewing. Be prepared for a vocal and energetic environment, and embrace the opportunity to sing along and feel the collective spirit of the Hajduk faithful.
✈️ Budget-Conscious Travelers
To save money on food and drinks, consider eating and hydrating before entering the stadium. While stadium concessions are convenient, they come at a premium. Utilizing public transport (buses) instead of taxis will also significantly reduce your travel costs to and from the stadium.

The Heartbeat of Hajduk: Match Day Experience
For the best experience, consider where you sit. The North Stand is the traditional home of the ultras, offering the most intense atmosphere. However, for a good view of their passionate displays while still being part of the cheering crowd, the East Stand is often recommended. The West Stand provides a good overview of the entire stadium and the North Stand's activities. Regardless of your chosen seat, be prepared for a sensory overload of sound, color, and emotion that defines a true Hajduk match day.
It's important to note that while the passion is infectious, some visitors have reported feeling overwhelmed or even unwelcome if they are not perceived as ardent supporters. Being respectful of the fan culture and understanding the intensity is key to a positive experience. Arriving early allows you to soak in the pre-game buzz and find your bearings before the main event.
Poljud Stadium's Unique Architecture
Despite its iconic status, the stadium has faced challenges with modernization over the years. While some updates have been made, certain areas may feel dated compared to newer sporting venues. However, this 'vintage' charm is part of its character for many fans. The sheer scale of the stadium, with a capacity of around 34,000, contributes to the impressive visual impact, especially when filled with a passionate crowd.
For photographers, the exterior offers numerous vantage points to capture its unique form. The surrounding area, including the nearby coast, provides scenic backdrops. While drone photography is generally prohibited, exploring the stadium's perimeter allows for diverse shots that highlight its architectural significance within the city of Split.
