Advent Zagreb 📍 Tunnel, Polar express This fairy-tale passage draws its inspiration from Chris Van Allsburg’s book, Polar express, which pictures a magical journey to the far north. By entering the tunnel, you will open the door into a world of icebergs, mystic polar animals’ shelters and unusual castle domes. #AdventZagreb #VisitZagreb #Tunnel #PolarExpress #Travel #Christmas #CroatiaFullOfLife...

The Railway Museum, Saitama, Japan - You can drive miniature trains!

I went here recently! It's a great museum and lots of fun! Word of advice though for anyone who goes (unless I just happened to pick a busy day), if you wanna do any of the simulator things (like the cool steam train driving simulator that has a whole cab and controls), there's…

Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise the Backo Mini Express for its incredible detail, craftsmanship, and the passion evident in its creation. The miniature representations of Zagreb and the dynamic day/night effects are highlights. While small, it offers a captivating experience for all ages, though its limited opening hours are a key point to note.

"It was an amazing experience with different life-like models! It's fun both for children I think, as well as for adults who like trains or dioramas. We could spend more than a hour just by looking at them and see how everything moves. The staff is also super friendly and it was great to talk with them. In the end we could try out some trains and control them :)"

"This is a must-see when you visit Zagreb. Whether you like model trains or not, you have to come to admire the dedication and all the work involved behind these small trains. Attention to the smallest details: people figurines, beatiful sceneries, many tunnels, day and night illumination, and real places from Zagreb, like the scenery from Trg Kralja Tomislava and the Glavni Kolodvor (Zagreb's Central Train Station) in winter time. Watch also the video from croatian's young singer Mia Dimšić, called Snježna ulica, that is also displayed on a LED screen inside the museum, you have to find Mia in the King's Tomislav Square! Very nice Museum made by passionate people. Basement also includes an area where the electronic components of the sets are explained. Very recommended."

"Such a cute little museum with an incredible level of passion, worksmanship and detail behind it! The museum is small, but you could spend a decent amount of time poring over all the small details.

The two main rooms even have a setting where the room lights dim to mimic the night time, and all the “city lights” light up, with storm sounds in the background. Such a nice touch!

Be sure to check the opening hours online before going, as it’s only open on Fridays and Saturdays."
