Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Zapata Swamp for its incredible wildlife, particularly the flamingos and Cuban crocodiles, and its peaceful, natural environment. However, some find the access requirements and limited facilities disappointing, with concerns also raised about animal welfare at the crocodile farm. The heat and humidity can also be challenging.

"A rather disappointing excursion to this national park in November. We had an oldtimer car that was not in a great state to drive the long old rail track road through the park. It is a large park with many lake areas with about 20 flamingo s per lake area, which could be viewed at a large distance. The park is very peaceful, except that you hear the flamingos every now and then. It was rather hot and humid at the time of our visit. We had to pay usd 10 per person for access with limited pleasure."

Ewald Van Der Helm

"This is a great visit to see the wildlife is you are interested in that. We did the Salinas trail and were able to spot many birds: flamingos, great white pelicans, cuban parakeets and many more whose names I don't remember. The nature also looks wonderful. The visit takes about 2h and a bit."

Anastasia P

"It was really good to see the Cuban crocodile and hold one as I love reptiles, although I'm not entirely 100% sure if they are cared for as best they could be as I saw some with deformities :("
