Cuba for the first time!
I'm from the US and visiting Cuba for the first time next month. Three nights in Havana, three in Cienfuegos, two in Santa Clara, then my last two in Havana. Anything I should see or avoid? What would you all suggest bringing? I'm a photographer so I'm looking forward to…

I ran into Walgreens in Santa Clara for 5 minutes and now my backpack+laptop is stolen. Learn from me and don't underestimate how quickly they can pounce on your belongings.
When I know that I am going to a store on my way home from work I put my briefcase in the trunk before I leave the office parking lot. I know it doesn’t avoid the Bluetooth tracker but it reduces the need to move it, in plain sight of the bad guys, while in the store parking lot.

Reviews Summary
Visitors find the Armored Train Monument a historically significant and emotionally resonant site, offering a tangible connection to the Cuban Revolution. The ability to explore the actual train cars is a highlight, though some note the exhibits are not extensive. Its easy accessibility and proximity to other key landmarks make it a recommended stop for history enthusiasts.
"A very interesting historical site dating back to the revolution. This is what I researched. On December 29, 1958, during the Battle of Santa Clara, an armored train sent by the Batista regime was captured by Ernesto “Che” Guevara and his guerrilla fighters.
The train carried 373 armed soldiers, ammunition, and provisions for two months. After fierce combat, the revolutionaries derailed the train, captured its weapons and ammunition, and forced the officers to surrender. The memorial is located on Avenida Liberación in the Bengochea ward, near the Santa Clara station. It is certainly worth leaving time to explore."

"The site of the celebrated ambush and victory by the Revolutionary forces (led by Che' Guevara) over Batista's forces. Hugely interesting if you have knowledge of Cuba's history. I felt emotional being there....recommended."

"This park is really easy to get to - just walk east down the high street, and keep going on along the more normal looking street, and across the bridge - it is hard to miss, and has a tourist shop opposite.
It is also worth making a trip to the statue of Che that is further along the same road (another 5 minute walk)"
