What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the breathtaking natural beauty, from stunning waterfalls and lush hiking trails to panoramic mountain views. The opportunity to swim in natural pools and experience unique adventures like zip-lining are highly praised. However, some travelers have encountered payment issues and less-than-ideal customer service at the entrance.
"Visited through Gaviota tours and our guide Oswaldó was amazing. The tour was so incredible and packed with things to do (lookout point over the mountains/sea, coffee shop, farmers market, hike, swimming, restaurant, driving in a Russian truck through the mountains). It was an unforgettable experience and Oswaldó was so kind and funny, he taught us so much and made it a great experience. The views were breathtaking, the coffee and caramels were so delicious, and the restaurant at the end of the tour was one of a kind with a farm like atmosphere and dogs/cats roaming the property overlooking a waterfall. This is a must do if you’re anywhere near Topes de Collantes!!"

"Wow! A pretty tough 2,5 hour hike (2-way), especially the way back, but an unforgettable experience! The surroundings during the hike are beautiful and the final destination, the waterfall, is breathtaking! Lovely to swim in the fresh water!
Don’t go on flip flops…"

"It is many experiences like these which gave me a bad human experience in Cuba, leaving a bitter aftertaste in me about the country. I arrived at the national park and tried to pay for entrance with a non-USA visa credit card. Unfortunately the card didn't work and to my surprise, they didn't accept cash as well. The lady at the entrance was dismissive, unhelpful and apathetic to my situation, telling me that there was nothing she could do to help me. I waited half an hour before my own hired motor driver reluctantly took out his local card to help me. Sanctions and economic hardships aside, it is bureaucratic red tapes and ineffective processes like these, and the poor unfriendly attitudes of many Cuban government employees that have made the country the way it is today."
