What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Špindlerova Bouda offers stunning mountain scenery and excellent opportunities for hiking and ski touring, with charming huts like Luční Bouda being a highlight. However, visitors should be wary of high prices and potential payment issues, particularly for foreign tourists, with some reviews citing dishonest practices.
"Restaurant is a scam, unless you have Czech Crowns in cash. Card is not accepted. Exchange rate PLN / CZK is 45% worse than in any bank. We've paid in EUR and the waiter miscounted the rest. In her favor of course."
Viacheslav K
"Very nice place with specific climate, it is standing quite high in the mountains so you can enjoy snow even during mild winters, spring or even in autumn.
They are serving very good food and they have large selection of drinks available- I would recommend shots of beherowka - herb drink. Hiking and cross country skiing available right from the doorstep of this location. You can take relatively easy hikes on the peaks towards jakuszyce - west or towards sniezka - east. Or you can take more demanding routes down.
Prices are quite high especially when you do not have czech korun. Main curse plus dessert plus drinks approx 40 euro per person."
Piotr Golebiowski
"I'm rating just the restaurant, we did not stay in the hotel. It is professional, the service is friendly and it is a nice renovated restaurant, like common in western countries.
However - Warning ⚠️ Card payment only over 500czk and the exchange rates are very bad.
The meals were good but not amazing, e.g. svíčková that cost more than 300czk had just a small portion of meat and pretty bad dumplings, but other meals were slightly better, but also not exactly amazing. I would expect more from a 3.5 star hotel .
Overall, it feels like the whole region is a big rip off for foreign tourists, and it convinced me to prefer German of Austrian mountains further, where the service is almost always excellent, friendly and without such cheap tricks from eastern Europe."
