What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Centrální Lázní Central Spa offers a relaxing stay with comfortable rooms and excellent spa facilities, particularly the historic Roman baths. While many guests praise the food variety and professional treatments, some reviews highlight service inconsistencies, especially during breakfast, and a lack of flexibility.
"We have visited this hotel for the 5th time for the purpose of a health spa break. The rooms we had were always very good, spacious and well maintained. The treatments are done very professionally. We enjoyed the buffet food and found there was plenty of choice and the cooked food was tasty. We very much enjoyed the salad buffet among other things. The facilities are very good, especially the swimming pool."

"Very bad service, very rude, inflexible personal.
+ comfortable big warm rooms, high ceilings, terrace, cosmetics, tea, and robes+slippers. All that is expected from 4*hotel.
+ Roman bath was really pleasant, not crowded, clean, warm pool water, about 29°C.
+ Must add that ukrainian stuff in the hotel was very helpful and kind.
- Very rude breakfast stuff, inclusive the manager. We were there with a baby, finishing our breakfast at the time 10:15, so instead of asking us politely to leave, they just switched off the light and started to do vacuum cleaning. When I asked why they that, one waiter&cleaner started even to shout on us in front of the restaurant manager. Scandalous! BTW, the next day at the breakfast were many other people being there after 10 am, and nobody was rushing them to leave! Terrible!
- Minibar is empty, with the note inside, call the number, and order drinks there. I called ordering a wine. So the male receptionist rudely told me that there is no wine, and if we order other drinks, then nobody is going to bring it to the room because he is alone in the reception. That's bad. That is absolutely not 4* hotel service. Then we went to get a beer which was warm!😳 The next day, I went to the reception, and I saw their minibar selection in the vitrine, guess what, the wine was there!🤦♀️ I was Speeless!
- Parking is possible close to the hotel, just a few spots for 320 czk or 13 €/day, but with a big sign that they are not responsible for your car or your stuff inside.
- No termal water in the roman baths, and I find it a bit overpriced, 800czk or 36€ for 3 hours for non-hotel guests.
- No tolerance on the closing hours everywhere: restaurant, bar, check out of the hotel, etc.
- Another bad thing, that if you not checked out exactly before 10:55, and not took your luggage from the room before that time, you will be not able to enter to the room again. Unless you walk back to the reception and activate the card again. I find this very inflexible, very strict, considering that is complex of 5 hotels connected by the corridors, where you sleep in one hotel, eat in the second, and do spa and bath in the third one. Long walks everywhere, especially with a stroller.
- Stuff doesn't speak English, only German and Russian.
- Too expensive for this level of service. 200€ /per night, with only breakfast.
- Food is average.
Definitely avoid this hotel if you want you to have a comfortable and pleasant stay."

"Well, the hotel looks nice, rooms are nice. Food is OK, but having paid enough for package - i would say more flexibility (offered not forced) would be appreciated. I would love to have procedures with my husband without asking for it and also not during breakfast time - because it is not really healthy, if you go either hungry or right after meal. But killing half a day waiting for each other may be for some people problem. Even though it is nice here, as long as the service stays this way I will not be tempted to come back. (Btw it was honeymoon …)"

The Spa Experience at Centrální Lázně
It's important to note that while the spa facilities are a major draw, some guests have found the pricing for non-hotel guests to be a bit high. Planning your visit to coincide with fewer crowds, perhaps on weekdays, can enhance the tranquil spa experience. Remember to book treatments in advance to secure your preferred slots, especially if you're looking for specific therapies or massages. The interconnected nature of the hotels means you might walk between your room and the spa, so factor that into your relaxation schedule.
Dining and Service at Central Spa
Beyond breakfast, the minibar service has also drawn criticism, with some guests experiencing difficulties in ordering drinks and receiving them promptly. While the hotel aims for a 4-star standard, these service inconsistencies have led some to feel the experience is overpriced for the level of service provided. It's advisable for guests to manage their expectations regarding service flexibility and to communicate clearly with staff about their needs.
