Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Holešovice Market for its vibrant selection of fresh produce and local goods, offering an authentic Prague experience. While some note the market's evolution from its past, it remains a beloved spot for quality food and community events. Occasional crowds and the need for cash are minor considerations.

"Great place to buy fresh produce. The overall experience of going around and looking for fresh fruits and vegetables was great. Since we are staying for sometime in Prague, cooking our own food is the best way to keep healthy and also a less expensive way to be abroad. The vendors are kind and helpful. Bring some cash with you and also try the fish soup from the fish stall, it’s really delicious."

"Holešovice Market (Holešovická Tržnice), also known as Prague Market, is a vibrant year-round marketplace in Prague 7 at Bubenské nábřeží 306/13, near the Vltava River. Hall 22, the largest farmers’ market in Prague, offers fresh produce, herbs, dairy, meat, fish, and specialties like Uzbek and Slovak goods. Open Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, Saturday 8:00 AM–2:00 PM. The market also features food trucks (May–October, 4:00 PM–10:00 PM), restaurants like Tràng An for Vietnamese pho, and cultural events. Housed in a historic former slaughterhouse, it’s a cultural hub with shops and galleries. Accessible via Vltavská metro (Line C) or trams"

"I love to come to the market to find local fruits and vegetables, mushrooms, eggs, meat and fish. I think the strongest point that is it open almost every day but usually Friday and Saturday are the strongest days with most vendors open. You can find here also rare fruits or veggies available only in season e.g.forest blueberries, chokeberry, gooseberry, seabuckthorn, chanterelle mushrooms, garden sorrel etc which you will not find in regular supermarkets."
