Reviews Summary

Visitors find the Mirror Maze on Petřín Hill to be a quick, fun diversion, especially for families, with amusing distortion mirrors and a historical mural. However, many note it's not a true maze and is quite small, leading to brief visits. The overall experience is often viewed as a pleasant, albeit short, addition to exploring the scenic Petřín Hill.

"Costs 300 kc for a family with 1 kid.
A bit small. It's not a mirror maze, more like a short mirror path and then a bunch of distortion mirrors.
It's a bit underwhelming.
But the stroll there is beautiful with the trees and greenery."

Tal Galili

"Extremely disappointed with this attraction.

It is not a maze at all, it’s just a mirror walk through because it is so small. It took us all of about 10 seconds to walk through. We were all in shock when we got to the end and just couldn’t believe that was it.

It’s such a shame because the decor is good and could be so much better if they just made it a lot bigger and then it would be an actual maze where people have to find their way out, but as it stands it is so small and so easy to manoeuvre around as there is only one way to go so it’s definitely not a maze."

Louise

"Amazing place with a mirror Maze and some fun fair mirrors. At the moment the fanicular is out of action so it is a long walk all up hill and steps but worth the trek."

Understanding the Mirror Maze Experience

The Mirror Maze on Petřín Hill, built for the 1891 Prague Exhibition, offers a unique, albeit brief, optical illusion experience. Visitors step into a labyrinth of mirrored walls, creating a disorienting and fun environment. While often described as a 'maze,' many reviewers note it's more of a short, guided walk-through rather than a place where one can truly get lost. This means the entire experience, including the funhouse-style distortion mirrors at the end, typically lasts under 20 minutes. TikTokReddit

Despite its brevity, the maze provides a lighthearted diversion. The distortion mirrors are a particular highlight, allowing visitors to playfully alter their reflections, leading to plenty of laughs, especially for families. At the conclusion of the mirrored path, you'll find a mural of Prague from 1648, adding a touch of historical context to the playful illusions. The relatively low entrance fee makes it an affordable and enjoyable addition to a day exploring Petřín Hill. Reddit

When planning your visit, it's important to manage expectations regarding the 'maze' aspect. It's best viewed as a fun, interactive exhibit rather than a challenging puzzle. The real charm often lies in the journey to Petřín Hill itself, with its scenic views and other attractions, making the Mirror Maze a delightful, quick stop along the way. Reddit

Accessing Petřín Hill can involve a bit of planning. While the funicular railway is a convenient option, it's subject to occasional closures. In such cases, public transport like trams (e.g., Tram 22 to Pohořelec) or buses are excellent alternatives, though they might require a short uphill walk. Taxis can also bring you closer to the summit. Reddit
