Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise the National Technical Museum Prague for its impressive and diverse collections, particularly its extensive vintage vehicle exhibits. Many highlight the historical significance of the items and the engaging displays that appeal to all ages. While generally well-received, some visitors note that the sheer size of the museum can be overwhelming, and certain sections might feel less dynamic than others.

"Wonderful museum full of machines and technology. If you like things that move, you’ll like this museum. The layout where you start at the top of the museum and work around the perimeter, dropping down a floor after each rotation, is really a great way to experience this place. It’s very open so you get to see it all at once. When I went (a Sunday late morning/early afternoon) it was not very crowded and quite quiet inside. They have a bag/coat check which is welcome as I was traveling with a backpack.

Each station had a plaque with information about the item you were looking at. They all had good English translations which I appreciate as my Czech is no good. If you want to take your time and read most of them in the museum, you should plan around 2 hours of time. Highly recommend!"

Grayson McManus

"The National Technical Museum is an absolute treasure for anyone who loves science, engineering, or history. The building itself is huge, and the exhibits are incredibly well curated. From vintage cars, motorcycles, and trains to aviation, photography, and even household technology, there’s something fascinating in every corner. It’s one of those museums where you can easily spend half a day and still not see everything.

The transportation hall is especially impressive, with full-sized locomotives and classic cars displayed beautifully. Other sections cover everything from astronomy to printing presses, and each display is packed with interesting information (available in English and Czech). Everything feels well-maintained and thoughtfully presented.

Tip: Plan at least 3–4 hours here, and buy your tickets online in advance during busy seasons. If you enjoy taking your time and reading about each exhibit, you could easily make it a full-day visit. It’s a must-see in Prague, even if you’re not a hardcore tech enthusiast."

"Was here with boy and friend who lives in Prague and recommended this place to visit. We had a great time there, this place is very interesting for kids but for the parents as well if you are at least little bit interested in technology. Very well organized with a huge central space and levels around, so you can see all from different angles. History of airplanes, locomotives, cars, motorcycles, bikes, all is there, go and enjoy."
