Reviews Summary

Visitors praise PLATO Ostrava for its stunning architectural transformation of a former slaughterhouse into a unique contemporary art space. The 'pay what you want' entry is highly appreciated, and the garden and on-site café add to the overall positive experience. While some find the modern art abstract, the building's design and atmosphere are consistently lauded.

"Absolutely great place! A lot of space, a lot of different artistic objects.
The garden is one love 💖
Also there's a small cafeteria inside."

Marharita Chuikova

"Modern art mixed with youth, experiments, not Direct message. Trully recommend to all open, free people."

G W

"A small, contemporary art center housed within a nicely designed architectural space. The building is a pleasure to explore, offering an engaging experience for visitors. It was once a site of shambles, and the renovation has preserved the original dark brick structures and walls, blending them with modern concrete elements. The result is a modest but well done integration of historical and contemporary architecture.

The entry operates on a "pay what you want" basis—1, 30, or 100 crowns—where 1 crown is symbolic of course. I encourage contributing at least 30 crowns, as the experience is certainly worth it. I don't know if they have any permanent exhibits, so the art itself may vary and I won't write about it. You need to check it out for youself. Our visit here was both interesting and rewarding. Great place!"
