What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Sankturin House is appreciated for its historical significance as one of Kutná Hora's oldest buildings and its unique artistic elements, particularly the chapel ceiling. Visitors note the low entrance fee and the potential for a peaceful, private viewing experience. However, some find the house to be small with limited exhibits, and the art's somber themes may not appeal to everyone.
"With a lovely stuff, in a beautiful house. I think we will found a museum from alchemical history in the city Cutna Hora, but in the museum they have painting from a painter Felix Jenewein . He really likes suffering. That was a little bit sad. But the museum its okay and the bathrooms are clean."

"Small place, just 2 small rooms, not interesting"

"The beautiful house on Palackého náměstí is one of the oldest buildings in Kutná Hora and was built as a tower fortress. Its core was a production facility with a smelter, where silver ore was processed and cleaned. In 1481, the house was purchased by the goldsmith Beneš from Trničí and rebuilt it magnificently. In 1503, he sold the palace to Sankturin from Nedvojiovice, a high-ranking member of the Kutná Hora city council. The house burned down in a large fire in 1770, which also destroyed the town hall, so its renovation falls into the last phase of the Kutná Hora Baroque. An unknown builder designed the facades based on the Dientzenhofer monastery of the Order of St. Ursula.
