What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Savoy Westend Hotel offers a luxurious spa experience and elegant accommodations, with many guests praising the friendly staff and relaxing atmosphere. However, some visitors feel the rooms and breakfast don't consistently meet five-star expectations, and a few have reported issues with service and outdated interiors. Despite mixed reviews on certain aspects, the spa remains a significant highlight for many.
"Savoy is a fantastic resort. The staff is incredibly friendly, the spa is amazing (I recommend getting a massage), and the food/bar is astounding. The location of the resort is nice because it’s a short walk to the town center. Karlovy Vary is a beautiful small town, but you’d never even need to leave the resort. It’s wonderful!"

"My overall impression doesn’t allow me to leave a better review than three stars. The hotel is located in a quiet street, not far from the city center. Due to the limited spa facilities and the rather old fashioned hotel (and no longer fresh) interior, we didn’t feel like staying inside the hotel and were more tempted by the hikes and walks nearby. Our room wasn’t worth what we spent for the stay. The breakfast buffet was only “ok”, was very basic and didn’t have that little extra you would expect from a luxury hotel. I had higher expectations towards a five stars hotel but the staff was very accommodating whenever we asked for a service. All in all, a good choice for a spa weekend, but I’m not convinced to the point I would want to go back."

"Terrible Experience - Rude Staff, Poor Service, and Unprofessional Management
My stay at the Hotel Savoy Westend in Karlovy Vary was, without a doubt, one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. I was humiliated and insulted during my stay, particularly in the restaurant, where the service was nothing short of disgraceful. The way the staff treated me made me feel as though I was being served out of their own unwillingness, with undertones of racism in their behavior.
The tipping point came when they failed to even provide me with basic silverware during one of my meals. This level of negligence forced me to leave the dining hall entirely and report the incident to the management. Shockingly, no action was taken. Not a single apology was offered. This lack of accountability and disregard for guest concerns is unacceptable for any establishment, let alone one that presents itself as a luxury hotel.
I decided to leave the hotel a day early because of the unbearable treatment. However, when I requested reimbursement for the unused night as a gesture of goodwill given my negative experience, the management outright refused. Instead of addressing my concerns or attempting to fix my experience, they coldly stated they could not refund me. This lack of empathy and effort to resolve the situation left me deeply dissatisfied and even more upset.
Beyond the disgraceful customer service, the housekeeping was equally appalling. My room was not vacuumed for the majority of my 10-day stay, and it may have been cleaned only once. The minibar was not replenished, further reflecting the hotel’s disinterest in providing basic services to its guests.
In summary, this hotel fails on every level: subpar customer service, unprofessional management, careless housekeeping, and an overall dismissive attitude toward guest concerns. I would highly recommend avoiding the Hotel Savoy Westend in Karlovy Vary. Do yourself a favor and choose a hotel that values its guests and provides the respect and care they deserve."
