What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors often praise synagogues for their historical significance, architectural beauty, and the cultural insights they offer. Many appreciate well-preserved and restored buildings that serve as museums or cultural centers. However, some reviews mention that certain locations are no longer active places of worship, and dining options can be limited.
"It is important to note that this is not an active synagogue. In the past it was a synagogue, today it is a center for cultural events, exhibitions, galleries, and more. The place is well-preserved, cared for, clean, and tidy. For those who care about the history of European Jews, it is worth a short visit."

"Theres nothing much in the menu haha. I was looking for their famous croissant, unfortunately not available during winter i think. Their drinks are nice though. Quite far from the castle and centre. The environment vibe is cute and quiet and cozy. Their ginger cake is likeable 🫶🏻"
Erin Iman
"This synagogue has been totally restored, but it is a museum, not used for prayers. The museum tells the fascinating history of the Jewish community in this city in a clear and interesting way, and shows how they built a paper industry and provided jobs and brought electricity and prosperity to the area, before they were all wiped out by the Nazis.
The history is all documented so clearly by a Jewish photographer, who lived here in the early 1900s, and his studio is also a museum in town.
The visit to the synagogue was a real eye opener for us, and highly recommended for a half hour stop over."
