Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise Holečkovy sady Park for its tranquil atmosphere, beautiful greenery, and the unique combination of historical fortifications with scenic valley views. It's highlighted as a peaceful escape right next to Tabor's historic center, perfect for leisurely walks and family outings. Some minor points of interest include a unique interactive feature and the accessibility from the main square.

"Holečkovy sady were founded in the 1830s around the historical center of Tábor. The area was named after the famous writer and translator Josef Holeček. In parallel with the renovation of the areas outside the walls, a new entrance from Mikuláš z Husi Square to Holečkovy sady - Marian Gate was also carved out. The main promenade path leads in the highest part of the park along the originally fence wall and the demolished Klokotská fort, past the Soukenická and Žižka bastions. I could not miss this walk, because on one side you have preserved remains of the city fortifications and on the other side a steep wooded slope to the Košínský potok valley. If you choose a family trip, you can stop at the children's playground by Žižka bastion.

Holečkovy orchards were founded in the 1930s around the historical center of Tábor. The area was named after the famous writer and translator Josef Holeček. Simultaneously with the editing of the spaces outside the walls a new entrance from the square of "Mikuláš z Husi" to Holečkovy sady was made - Mariánská gate. The main promenade walks in the highest part of the park along the original fortification walls and the demolished Klokotská wicket, around Soukenická and Žižka's bastions. I could not miss this walk, because all the time you have remnants of the city fortifications on one side, and a steep wooded slope into the valley of the Košínský potok from the other side. Thats a beauty. If you choose a family trip, you can spend some time at the children's playground near Žižka's bastion."
