The surrounding forest, rich with wild garlic, adds to the charm. However, some find the paths challenging due to mud, stairs, and fallen trees, and note that the waterfall can be dry in summer.
"Even the waterfall is almost dry in the summer period, the surroundings are beautiful. If you like nature it is worth a visit."

"This was beautiful! 😍 A frozen winter wonderland! There was a lot of water and the icicles were really cool.
There were a few paths to take and there could have been a few more signs as it was harder to see amongst the snow.
The toilets were also locked at this time of year which was disappointing for a full bladder!
A beautiful area to explore!"

"Lovely area full of nature, and absolutely full of wild garlic!
The waterfall was calm during my visit, but it allowed us to get up close without it being crowded.
We walked up from the parking and although the path was muddy, it was still walkable.
This is an outdoor site, so accessibility depends on weather. That being said, it's important to note is that you have to duck under a fallen tree to get close to the fall, so take that into consideration if you have mobility issues."

Understanding the Waterfall's Flow

The walk to the falls is often described as a pleasant experience through a lovely area full of nature. The presence of wild garlic in the forest adds a unique sensory dimension, particularly in spring when it's in bloom. Even when the waterfall is less impressive in summer, the natural beauty of the gorge and forest remains a significant draw for nature lovers.
Navigating the Trails and Accessibility
Despite these challenges, there are options for different fitness levels. A broader and easier route is available that stays further from the stream, making it more accessible for the elderly or those who prefer a gentler walk. Both routes ultimately lead to the waterfall. The advice from visitors highlights the importance of checking the weather conditions and being prepared for the terrain, ensuring a more enjoyable and safe exploration of this beautiful natural site.
Seasonal Wonders: From Frozen Falls to Wild Garlic
As spring arrives, the landscape bursts to life. The waterfall regains its power, and the surrounding forest becomes fragrant with wild garlic. This combination of a robust waterfall and the aromatic forest creates a vibrant and sensory-rich experience. Summer offers a more tranquil visit. While the waterfall's flow is reduced, the surrounding nature remains beautiful, and the calmer conditions mean fewer crowds, allowing for a more intimate appreciation of the gorge and its surroundings.
