Tietgen Student Hall is widely praised for its stunning, innovative architecture and its success in fostering a strong sense of community among residents. The communal living setup, with shared kitchens and social spaces, is a major highlight, making it a vibrant place to live. While its location is a bit further from the city center, excellent public transport links and on-site amenities make it a highly desirable student residence.

"The billing was closed down during my visit, probably because of semester break. Had a look in the outside and the architecture is amazing.

My only negative experience is that they don’t have any bike parking area (lime apps) around the area, I was forced to parked 10 mins walking distance away from the building."

Ron Lui

"fantastic piece of architecture from the turn of the millennium. everything from the wood framing for the ground floor glass facade to the volumetric push-outs and recesses on the inside and outside of the ring, to the generous circular courtyard is not just appropriate but extremely beautiful and exciting - the kind of place that makes you want to live there and be a part of the collective"

Dan H

"I live here and I love it! Amazing architecture and the interiors are even more beautiful! You can visit the courtyard for free of course or book guided tours (charged). There is card access for the lift and corridors as well as common facilities, but if you ask a resident they may be kind enough to give you entry. It is beautiful in the night as well!"

Architectural Marvel

Tietgen Student Hall, designed by Lundgaard & Tranberg Architects, is a standout example of contemporary Danish architecture. Completed in 2007, its defining feature is the massive circular structure that encloses a generous courtyard. This design isn't just aesthetic; it's fundamentally about fostering a strong sense of community among its residents.Reddit The building's exterior is characterized by its clean lines, wood framing for the ground floor glass facade, and dynamic volumetric push-outs and recesses that add visual interest.

The interior mirrors this thoughtful design. Each of the 30 sections is arranged around the central courtyard, with apartments facing outwards and common facilities like kitchens and living areas facing inwards. This layout ensures that residents are constantly exposed to opportunities for social interaction. The generous circular courtyard serves as the building's social heart, a space for gatherings, parties, and informal meetups, especially during the warmer months.Reddit

Beyond its communal spaces, Tietgen offers practical amenities for student life. Residents have access to a gym, study rooms, laundry facilities, and even specialized workshops for sewing and woodwork.
