What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the Danish Railway Museum, calling it one of the best museums they've visited, especially for families. Highlights include the ability to board trains, engaging exhibits, and a fantastic playground. Some wish for more viewing platforms for steam engines, but overall, it's a highly recommended experience.
"I really wouldn’t have thought so, but this is a great museum for people of all ages. We began our visit with a tour with the mini train that runs every hour. If you are an adult and visit without kids, I would still recommend that you take the train. It’s an experience in itself! The museum itself is vast. We arrived around midday and ran out of time when the museum closed at 16:00 o clock. I would try to arrive earlier next time to be able to see more of it. There are several sections that are very interesting - ferries for trains, the royal carriages, old steam engines. I would gladly come again. Kids can enter free of charge!"

"Best museum I’ve been! How can someone give less than 5 stars? Trains that you can board on, detailed descriptions, amazing playground, mini train for kids and grownups, pretend play area with costumes upstairs, clean toilets and changing tables, vintage bus tour that takes us around the town, friendly helpful staff at the gift shop who patiently explained to me the characters and themes of each Danish picture book. Ticket gives you unlimited entries all day; we actually went back for another mini train ride. I can’t wait to come back again!"

"Absolutely an awesome experience!
Definitely worth a visit if you're into trains and locomotives. They have around five steam trains and seven large old diesel locomotives, including the MY, MX, and MZ classes. There's also a bunch of other cool trains—some you can even ride! You can learn a lot about the history of the Danish railway, and the staff are very helpful and friendly.
In short: The best railway museum in Denmark!"
