What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise FLUGT for its deeply moving and thought-provoking experience, highlighting its modern architecture and immersive storytelling. While the indoor exhibits are impactful, some find the outdoor audio walk less visually engaging due to the lack of remaining structures. The museum's ability to educate and foster empathy is a recurring theme in positive reviews.
""Until I visited this museum, I realized I actually knew nothing about migration and refugees. It’s truly an amazing piece of work — those who contributed to it deserve to be congratulated. Most people in the world live under extremely difficult conditions; you only understand the value of a hot meal and a safe place to sleep once you’ve lost them.""

"Amazing! The size of the museum itself is small. It took about one hour to walk indoors. It's a new kind of museum that visitors LISTEN most to the audio guide. Nothing much to look at.
However, I found the audio tour/walk outside the building, in the area of the previous camp was not enjoyable. It's just like walking in the forest, nothing could be seen since no buildings were left there. All we had to do was to imagine if those buildings were there in the forest.
I recommend visiting just the exhibition part.
The cafe is nice and it’s worth visiting."

"One of the most impressive museums I have ever visited. The museum is not only a classical exhibition, but contains many audio-visual elements, installations and opportunities for self-reflection. The individual stations with videos last at least 5 minutes per station, although you need much longer if you watch all the video or audio tracks. Plan for at least 2 hours. It is not impossible for smaller children to visit, but it is very demanding.
There is a 3,5km audio walk across the former german camp surrounding the beautiful building, but this takes some additional time as well.
The topic is of course very impressive and difficult, which should be taken into account in any case, but it is worth it. The initial situation, the German refugee camp after the Second World War, was taken as an opportunity to actively deal with the topic of flight. Although the camp and its everyday life is the subject, it is reflected in all eras and in modern times, a very nice approach that makes the museum interesting for everyone and not only for those interested in the former german refugee camp.
Technically, the museum is top-notch, everything works without problems and great guidance. Every Video and Audio is in Danish, German and English available and the quality is very good, also in the later languages.
I wish more German museums were like this,
thank you for putting so much work into educating this topic."
