"A lovely city museum. Roskilde was an important medieval city and this museum tells its story. Nice staff who seemed a little surprised at our visit (everyone goes to the Viking ship museum).
Good prehistory gallery with a aurochs skeleton and Viking burials. Lots on the history of the town
A very nice cafe too, if a little pricey.
Recommened if visiting the Viking ship museum too. It's well signposted and free with a Copenhagen card"

"A small museum made very nicely and it has an artistic originality. See the pics"
Nesmina Bre
"Whilst visiting Roskilde Cathedral we decided to make use of our Copenhagen Card by paying a visit to the Museum, which is located close by.
There were some interesting artifacts to see but a lot of the information was in Danish and aimed at older children / adults. The museum itself is located in a very historic building and is set across several rooms on different floors.
In summary it was enjoyable but it definitely needs combining with other attractions to make a visit worthwhile."
