What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find Hulsig Church to be a beautiful and interesting village church, particularly appreciating its surprisingly modernized and vibrantly colored interior. The artistic additions to the pulpit and altar are frequently praised, offering a unique blend of historical architecture and contemporary art.
"A beautiful little village church that when you enter appears modernized in a nice and appropriate way, it is much used today but not always successfully like here ..."
Keld Gydum
"Hulsig originally belonged to the northern part of Raabjerg Parish and Skagen Country Parish, but in 1894 it got its own church – a modest red stone church in Romanesque-Young Gothic style with dark furnishings and a small bell tower as a roof rider. The church was designed by architect V. Ahlmann.
After a thorough restoration in 1990-1991 with the painter Arne L. Hansen responsible for both the color scheme and new picture panels on the pulpit and altar, the church room today appears bright and vibrant with colors."
John Hansen
"Interesting little church, not least the way the benches are painted"
