Reviews Summary

Dunas de Baní offers a unique desert-like experience in the Dominican Republic, with impressive sand dunes and opportunities for sandboarding and wildlife spotting. Visitors appreciate its distinctiveness and the nearby beach, though some note issues with cleanliness and the intense heat, recommending early morning visits and proper footwear.

"Really interesting place. Beautiful beach...but could be cleaned. Sand super hot so recommend to use socks in your sandals"

Grazyna Lachowicz

"This is interesting, it's very different from other parts of the Dominican Republic and for that it's something to see and experience.

It's 100 pesos per person to enter, there are also public bathrooms right inside the gate. There is limited parking along the road in the shade.

We saw a lot of goats and a huge iguana, but as for the dunes it might be best to go early in the morning. It gets really really hot! The sand especially is hot if you're wearing sandals. It would be fun to explore when it's cool but as it was we just walked in, climbed the hill to get a look over the area, then came back. They had some sand boards you could rent, though they were well used.

It's worth a stop, especially if you're exploring Peravia, and we enjoyed seeing it."

Michelle Mitton

"Worth visiting if you are nearby. Met a lot of iguanas which was amazing.

It’s not super clean, you can see trash here and there.

We went in the middle of the day, and it was hot, so wear sunscreen and cover your head. The sand is really hot, so don’t go there wearing open shoes. Bring water with you.

The entry cost is 100 pesos per person."
