Monkeyland!
We’re going back to Punta Cana in November. We didn’t do any excursions on our first visit in June because all we wanted to do was relax, and it just seemed like too much effort to do anything but lie by the pool and drink piña coladas. But Monkeyland! It sounds so awesome. Is…

Monkey Safari Land
How is it? Is it worth visiting with two kids? I’m not finding too much discussion here (maybe my Reddit search is broken?)
Monkeyland Excursion from La Romana
I know this is a reddit for Punta Cana, but I couldn't find what I am looking for anywhere else. We are staying in La Romana next week, and my kids really want to do the Monkeyland excursion that the hotel is offering (5 hours). I think it's probably through Runner's Adventures,…

Punta Cana Excursions
First time resort goer here. Going to Dreams Royal Beach in Punta Cana next month. Is it better to book excursions online or at the resort? Also any good suggestions for excursions near there would be appreciated. Edit: No Kids.

What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Monkeyland Punta Cana is overwhelmingly praised for its incredible monkey interactions and the engaging coffee/chocolate demonstrations. Visitors highlight the friendly and knowledgeable staff, the reasonable prices for photos and souvenirs, and the beautiful scenery. The main drawback mentioned by some is the comfort and length of the transportation to and from the attraction.
"Absolutely loved it. We had such a lovely experience. The staff were lovely, the monkeys were unbelievable 😍 I would have stayed all day if I could. My son & husband also done the high ropes. Loved it! Definitely a must if visiting the dominican"

"Monkeyland was a great way to spend a half day in the Dominican Republic. All staff was extremely welcoming and knowledgeable. Everyone goes for the monkeys but the coffee/chocolate experience was very good too. They have products for sale but there was no pressure to buy and everything there, even in the gift shop, was very reasonably priced. Shout out to Oswaldo (I believe that was his name) who accommodated multiple languages (english, spanish, italian, french, german) during the tour and was very entertaining and informative.
We had plenty of time with the monkeys ~ 30 minutes. They brought small groups in so we all time with monkeys which included multiple rounds of feeding in two different settings. They take professional photos but you could take your own as well. Though their photos came out great and was $50 for the entire set. Again, no pressure to purchase.
Personal thank you to the staff on site. I experienced a minor health emergency onsite and they took care of me.
There was really only one issue in my opinion. The ride to the site and back was not comfortable. From La Romana it was a 90 minute ride each way and that's after making a few pickups. We got picked up in a nice air conditioned bus. Initially I was relieved and thinking I could sleep comfortably during the ride but then we were transferred to an open-air safari style truck. Do not sit in the rear as it's very bumpy. It was very scenic and there was a breeze but there was a lot of exhaust fumes.
Overall, I'm glad we had the experience. If I could, I'd take a half star away and give a 4.5 due to the transportation."

"This was such an amazing experience have to say i was a bit sceptical at first, but after the whole experience was over, I felt that everyone should at least give it a try once, even though you feel you’re gonna be scared of them, and everything else is so cute and tiny. They just jump around everywhere and we get really cool photos out of it. It’s memorable experience that you should definitely try if you are in the country for travel purpose. We went there in a group of like eight people and we had a great time and we got good photos as well. The view behind is amazing. They have kept those little monkeys in such a nice and protected way. They actually care for them a lot. If you are sick or anything you’re not allowed to go inside because you can transmit that to the monkeys, and if they get sick, they would all die in like a week that’s what they told us."
